Former NBA Player Thinks Miami Heat's Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson Not Enough For Damian Lillard
At least one retired NBA player thinks the Miami Heat need a better package deal to acquire Portland Trail Blazers All-Star Damian Lillard.
Evan Turner, now an assistant coach, said the Heat better offer more in order to sign Lillard. Turner made the comments while speaking on the latest episode of "No Chill w Gilbert Arenas” on Fubo Sports.
"The Miami Heat tried to send Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson for a top-75 player from Oakland. Hell naw," Turner said. "I don’t give a damn if the points match up, or the money. I need me a superstar.”
The Blazers are already reportedly not interested in Herro. It means a third team has to get for the Heat to have any chance of making a trade. Turner said he wants to see Lillard end up with the Boston Celtics so he can play alongside Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
"He really believes he can win a championship in Portland, and I think he can win a championship anywhere," Turner said. "But sometimes you gotta go out and find the right situation. So I’m glad he’s able to do that and put himself in a better position.”
