Has Bam Adebayo Surpassed Chris Bosh In The Miami Heat's All-Time Big Men Rankings?

Center Bam Adebayo is having the best season of his career on the Miami Heat, raising comparisons to former Heat big man Chris Bosh
In this story:

In a season filled with frustration and disappointment for the Miami Heat, center Bam Adebayo has been a bright spot.

The 26-year-old is emerging on the offensive end, averaging a career-high 21.5 points on 50.3 percent shooting. His breakout year is leading some to question whether he has surpassed big man Chris Bosh among Miami's all-time big men.

There's no question that Adebayo holds the upper hand on defense, earning four All-Defensive Team selections. Bosh was no slouch on the defensive end, but lacked the ability to shut down elite centers the way Adebayo does.

Bosh was ahead of his time in terms of stretching the floor, along with Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki. In his top year in Miami, the Hall of Famer averaged 21.1 points on 37.5 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

Accolades is the area in which Bosh claims a significant advantage over Adebayo. During his six years with the Heat, Bosh was named a six-time All-Star and won two NBA championships alongside LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Meanwhile, Adebayo is a two-time All-Star with two Finals appearances as a key contributor.

It's too early to definitively call Adebayo the superior Heat big man, but he appears on track to surpass him in a few seasons.
