Heat vs. Knicks Takeaways: Jimmy Butler's Efforts Fail To Lead Miami Over New York

A look at the five biggest takeaways from the Miami Heat's loss to the New York Knicks on Saturday

The Miami Heat's losing streak extended to six games after Saturday's loss to the New York Knicks, 125-109.

Here's a look at five major takeaways:

1. Jimmy Butler's efforts failed to lead Miami over New York.

In a patch of the regular season filled with frustration, the veteran star is thriving on both ends of the floor. Butler finished the night with 28 points, eight rebounds, and four assists on 55 percent shooting. Not to mention, he added three steals to his stat line. He is looking to put Miami back on the right path, but he cannot do it alone.

2. Duncan Robinson's offensive aggressiveness was one of the few bright spots.

An offensive slump for Miami means players must begin to find their rhythm. Eagerness on the offensive side of the ball allows time to enter a flow. The 29-year-old sharpshooter showcased that feat in today's contest, scoring 19 points on 5 of 11 shooting from beyond the arc. It wasn't the most efficient outing, but it allowed Robinson to start seeking a groove.

3. Jaime Jaquez Jr. began readjusting in his return from injury.

After missing six consecutive matchups, the rookie underwhelmed for his standards. Jaquez tallied six points, four assists, and two steals on 1 of 3 shooting. His greatest strength is impacting the game in all aspects, which showed in a disappointing loss.

4. Jalen Brunson continued his dominant season.

Many fans believe Brunson belonged as an All-Star starter. The agenda was pushed further as he recorded 32 points, eight assists, and five rebounds on 54.5 percent shooting. Regardless of individual awards, Brunson is hoping to win New York an NBA championship.

5. Terry Rozier displayed his best performance in a Heat uniform.

It was not a promising showcase, but it was the best of Rozier's three in Miami. He concluded the game with 10 points, seven assists, and five rebounds. His problems stem from an efficiency standpoint, shooting 4 of 12. It takes time to acclimate to a new organization, meaning Heat fans should give Rozier time to adjust.
