The Kansas City Chiefs' second consecutive Super Bowl win could lead to success for an NBA powerhouse, according to history.

The Miami Heat have been 0-2 in the NBA Finals since 2020, but have reached the biggest stage each time the Chiefs have won the Super Bowl in that span.

In 2020, the Chiefs defeated the 49ers 31-20, while the Heat lost to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in six games. Fast forward to 2023, Kansas City took down the Philadelphia Eagles in a four-quarter battle, while the Heat were gentlemen's swept by the Denver Nuggets.

The Heat do not appear on the same trajectory as years prior, with a 28–25 record. However, injuries have once again derailed their chances in a multitude of games. Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro have missed significant time throughout the year. Last season's improbable Finals run proved that fans should never count them out to make a playoff push.

The Chiefs win over the 49ers solidifies them as an NFL dynasty headed on the same path as Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Superstars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce show parallels to Brady and Rob Gronkowski in the postseason.

The Heat fan base is without a doubt hoping for history to repeat itself, but with a different result in the Finals.
