How Miami Heat’s Twitter Reacted to the Loss Against the Washington Wizards Friday Night

The fans were content despite the loss.

The Miami Heat battled it out Friday night in a 107-106 overtime loss against the Washington Wizards.

Miami was without Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler. They also did not have Duncan Robinson, Dewayne Dedmon or Gabe Vincent coming off the bench. Only seven players were in the Heat’s rotation.

The lineup Friday night was composed of Heat rookies and their G-League players.

Despite the loss, fans were satisfied with the solid performances from the limited roster. Even amidst blowing another late lead, most users had good things to say.

“Tough loss but gotta give huge credit to the boys who played tonight,” one fan said. “It was Lowry and undrafted players, and they took the fully healthy Wizards team to the absolute limit. Lowry put his heart out there, 50+ minutes played is insane. Jovic needs to start.

There was high praise for Kyle Lowry, who usually receives criticism from the Heat fanbase.

Lowry logged 24 points, 10 rebounds and 15 assists in 51 minutes of play. According to StatMuse, he is now the fifth player in NBA history to record a triple double in his 13+ seasons.

One criticism fans did have was the absence of Nikola Jovic down the stretch. Jovic was having a solid game, finishing with 18 points and six rebounds while frequently getting to the free-throw line. Some were wondering why Erik Spoelstra would bench him.

The Heat will play the Cleveland Cavaliers (9-6) Sunday night at 7:00 p.m.
