How Miami Heat Twitter Reacted To Jaime Jaquez Jr, Nikola Jovic’s Summer League Debuts
The Miami Heat’s Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Nikola Jovic had strong debuts in this year’s summer league against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Jaquez went 8 of 15 from the field for 22 points, already getting poster dunks before the season even starts. Right behind him was Jovic, ending with 21 points, eight rebounds and three assists. It’s safe to say the fanbase was impressed with these displays, even if it’s just one game.
The two were considered as assets in the pending trade for Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard. Now, fans are now labeling them as essential pieces to the Heat’s future.
Jaquez was selected with the 18th pick out of UCLA in the hopes of improving the Heat’s league-worst scoring unit last year. Jovic, the 2022 first-round selection, did not see much playing time last season due to injury. Hopefully, more performances like these could grant the two more opportunities.
They are in the good graces of Heat fans…for now.
