How Miami Heat’s Twitter Reacted to the Saturday Win Against the New York Knicks
Jimmy Butler was listed as questionable heading into the Miami Heat’s Saturday matchup against the New York Knicks.
But let’s face it, everyone knew he was going to play. Thankfully for Heat fans, Butler returned to his superstar form with a 28-point performance to give Miami a 2-1 lead in the series.
Butler’s scoring is the story of the Heat’s postseason, but his leadership is what Miami was missing in Game 2. The Heat set the tone in the first quarter and never took their foot off the gas. Butler got MVP chants every time he was at the free throw line.
As big as Butler was, it's the contributions around him that keep Miami competitive in the playoffs. Kyle Lowry looks like the player Miami traded for to elevate them to championship status. Max Strus had a solid third quarter to help the Heat keep the foot on the gas in the second half. Bam Adebayo had a 17-point double-double, showing his two-way playmaking that made him an All-Star this season. Strus, Lowry and Adebayo combined for 50 of the team’s 105 points.
Meanwhile, the Knicks shot 20 percent from 3-point range, while Julius Randle had another underwhelming performance. Randle went 4 of 15 for 10 points with four personal fouls and five turnovers. Heat fans dwindled over to New York’s comment section to continue trolling him.
Miami’s improbable postseason run continues Monday night for Game 4. If the Heat win, they will have a 95 percent chance of winning the series to advance to their third conference finals in the past three seasons.
