How Miami Heat’s Twitter Reacted to the Win Against the Dallas Mavericks Saturday Night

The Miami Heat ended their three-game losing streak by defeating the Dallas Mavericks

The Miami Heat’s three-game slump featured offensive ineptitude that worried many fans heading into the playoffs. The Heat got back in the win column with one of their highest-scoring performances this year against the Dallas Mavericks.

“Awesome game by Cody,” one fan said. “Good to see we can survive without Bam. We would have lost without Jimmy. Our defense needs to improve ASAP. Too many easy baskets from Dallas.”

The Heat’s social media started off the day being flooded with praise for Dwyane Wade after his Hall of Fame induction. It ended with more praise and memes for center Cody Zeller, who is becoming a fan favorite among Heat fans.

Zeller is certainly getting more admiration than former center Dewayne Dedmon. He and Kevin Love had their best scoring nights in Heat jerseys, combining for 38 points Saturday.

“Zeller and Love showed up and showed out tonight,” one user said. “If they can somehow manage to give that level of play from here on out, who knows how far the Heat can go? But nonetheless, good win for the Heat...good win for the culture.”

Although the game was another close one, the team’s high scoring in the absence of Bam Adebayo is a sign of optimism for Heat fans. Some even argued Adebayo would not have fared well considering some of his recent games.

Miami starts their road trip against the Detroit Pistons (16-61) Tuesday night. With just four games left, the Heat are just trying to hold on to the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference, since climbing out of the play-in bracket is unlikely.
