How Miami Heat’s Twitter Reacted to the Win Against the Detroit Pistons Tuesday Night

The Miami Heat defeat the Detroit Pistons behind strong fourth quarter from Jimmy Butler

Jimmy Butler ended the first half against the Detroit Pistons with just two points. He exploded in the second half, including going 7 of 7 in the fourth quarter for 18 points. Butler was the topic of conversation amongst Miami Heat fans on social media.

He nearly had a triple-double, ending the night with 27 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and four steals. Miami is now 7-0 since the All-Star break when Butler has at least seven assists.

Some even resorted back to expressing frustration with the supporting cast around Butler.

“We’ve been asking you to give him some help for 3+ years now and the best you have done is give him a washed up Kyle Lowry,” one fan said.

To be fair, Gabe Vincent and Tyler Herro had solid games, combining for 40 points and accounting for eight of Miami’s 13 3-pointers. Still, many fans still hold grudges for the lack of help around Butler last postseason, which leads to demands of superstar performances.

“Yeah but we’re tired of seeing the game entirely lie on his shoulders towards the end,” one user said. “When will someone step up and also close out games??”

Other fans were frustrated because of the team’s continuous struggles against below average competition. The Pistons have the worst record in the league but still gave the Heat a run for their money. Similar to their last game against Detroit, the Heat had to have a late surge in order to pull off a victory.

Hopefully Butler can have another performance like this against the Philadelphia 76ers (52-27) Thursday night, with key contributions from the other Heat players as well.
