How Miami Heat’s Twitter Reacted to the Win Against the New York Knicks Wednesday Night
The Miami Heat’s win against the Detroit Pistons didn’t impress their fanbase, but a gritty Wednesday night victory against the New York Knicks did. The Heat have won seven of their last 10 games after starting 1-4 coming out of the All-Star break.
Jimmy Butler had another superstar performance with 35 points, nine assists, and four steals. He is averaging 26.3 points on 60.5 percent shooting since the All-Star break.
This game felt like the playoffs with the traded shots and high intensity between the players. Heat fans flooded social media with a camera shot of Butler mocking Julius Randle, who had one of his worst games of the season Wednesday. Coming off a career-high 57-point performance, Randle finished with just 15 points, four turnovers and five fouls.
The Heat’s backcourt was solid in the wake of recent judgment. Gabe Vincent had a strong first half en route to his 19-point performance. Kyle Lowry, the target of criticism from Heat fans this season, continued to play well off the bench. He is averaging 10 points on 58 percent shooting from 3-point range on the second unit. Tyler Herro again had a potent fourth quarter after struggling for most of the game. He had 14 in the fourth, including all four of his shots from downtown.
The Heat improved to 6-1 since the All-Star break when shooting at least 40 percent from the arc. They are back in action against the Brooklyn Nets (39-33) in a battle for the No. 6 seed.
