And then Celtics forward Grant Williams helped awaken the Heat. After making a basket, Williams started jawing with Heat forward Jimmy Butler. It led to a 24-9 Heat run and resulted in a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
"He hit a big shot," Butler said. "Started talking to me. I like that. I'm all for that. It makes me key in a lot more. It pushes that will to win that I have a lot more."
Butler said incidents as such often motivate him. This time, it ignited the entire team.
"It makes me smile, it does," Butler said. "When people talk to me, I'm like, 'OK I know I'm a decent player if you want to talk to me out of everybody that you can talk to. It's just competition. I do respect him, though. He's a big part of what they try to do. He switches, he can shoot the ball. I just don't know if I'm the best person to talk to."
