Jimmy Butler on Miami Heat’s Consecutive Losses: ‘I’m Tired of Losing’

Butler let off frustration after Hornets loss

The Miami Heat’s loss against the Charlotte Hornets marked their fourth consecutive defeat. The Hornets have one of the worst records in the league but were still able to collect a victory against the Heat Saturday night. Jimmy Butler had a very blunt reaction to this game.

“We lost,” Butler said. “It don’t matter what quarter it was in, man. We lost. I’m tired of losing.”

Since the All-Star break, Miami hasn’t had the transformation it was envisioning

After going ahead early in the first quarter, the Heat never regained the lead. They made strides to cut multiple double-digit deficits but couldn’t pull ahead. Miami had the chance to take the lead with 1.5 minutes left but late turnovers undid any possibility of getting the win. Butler says the comebacks didn’t matter when looking at the result.

“I don’t care if we were down 30, lost by 30 or lost by one,” Butler said. “We lost. I don’t think anybody in here wants to lose but we gotta figure this out very, very quickly.”

The Heat’s schedule is very difficult in the final stretch of the season. They play Eastern rivals such as the New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, and Philadelphia 76ers. In order to avoid the play-in tournament, Miami would have to get back to the top six teams in the conference standings. The Knicks pulled 2.5 games ahead of the Heat after a five-game win streak. Losing to the Hornets and Milwaukee Bucks without Giannis Antetokounmpo is difficult but Miami can still turn things around. They had a late four-game losing streak last season but went 6-1 in their final games.

The Heat play the Sixers tomorrow night.
