Longtime Miami Heat Forward Udonis Haslem Becomes Owner In Jai-Alai League

Udonis Haslem invests in the Rebote Renegades.

Former Miami Heat veteran Udonis Haslem isn’t done in the sports world after retiring. In addition to remaining in player operations with the Heat, Haslem is also investing in the Rebote Renegades of the World Jai-Alai League.

“New chapter means a new venture as a Jai-Alai League team owner,” Haslem said on Instagram. “Honored to be a part of a sport with deep-rooted history, especially right here in my city and to me personally through memories of my dad. And y'all know I'm competitive so I'm gonna make sure the Renegades are out here putting in work‼️ Winning is always on my mind no matter where we at! I'm excited to be doing it for Miami, for the players and for the fans around the world.”

The Renegades were the Fall 2022 Battle Court champions. Haslem is coming off a Heat team falling just short of their own title after an improbable postseason run. The hope is that acquiring Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard will elevate the team to a championship.
