Miami Heat Fans Call For Return Of Goran Dragic Following Dru Smith’s Injury

Miami Heat fans are hoping for a potential reunion with veteran Goran Dragic after the announcement of Dru Smith’s season-ending injury
In this story:

The Miami Heat’s greatest weakness took another blow after guard Dru Smith was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

This leaves Miami’s backcourt with Kyle Lowry, Tyler Herro, and Josh Richardson. They should be in the market for another playmaker because Herro and Richardson are score-first guards. Not to mention, Herro is sidelined due to an injury.

After the news of Smith’s injury broke, Heat fans began calling for a reunion with veteran Goran Dragic. He spent seven seasons with the Heat, where he was named a one-time All-Star.

Fans love Dragic because of his personality as well as his contributions to their 2020 NBA Finals run. He averaged 19.1 points and 4.4 assists on 44.4 percent shooting.

His most recent appearances came in 58 games for the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks last season. He averaged 6.3 points and 2.6 assists as a solid contributor off the bench.

Others are calling for guard R.J. Hampton to have a chance in the spotlight. Hampton is currently signed on a two-way contract.

Miami has a tendency to keep veterans on the roster, such as Kevin Love, Lowry, and Udonis Haslem. Dragic would receive a warm welcome from the Heat community, especially in a time of need.
