Miami Heat Have History On Their Side With Only 13 Teams Rallying From 3-1 Deficits

The odds are in the Miami Heat's favor of upsetting the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in first round

Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra has been around long enough to know things are far from over.

But the Heat can breathe just a little easier after Monday's win put them ahead 3-1 against the Milwaukee Bucks in their first round series in the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Heat can close it out Wednesday in Milwaukee.

“We still have work to do, so I don’t want to say too much. There’s no time to exhale, at all," Spoelstra said. "The series is still going and we have great respect for the championship DNA that that group has.”

Only 13 teams have pulled off the improbable comeback:

1968 Boston Celtics
1970 Los Angeles Lakers
1979 Washington Bullets
1981 Boston Celtics
1995 Houston Rockets
1997 Miami Heat
2003 Detroit Pistons
2006 Phoenix Suns
2015 Houston Rockets
2016 Golden State Warriors
2016 Cleveland Cavaliers
2020 Denver Nuggets (twice)
