The Miami Heat vs. Milwaukee Bucks play of the night came from a slam dunk by Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo

In the Miami Heat’s nail-biting defeat to the Milwaukee Bucks, superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo thrived.

Antetokounmpo finished the night with 33 points, seven rebounds, and two assists on 57.1 percent shooting. His best play of the night came late in the fourth quarter. Antetokounmpo spun into the paint, leaping past center Orlando Robinson for the poster slam dunk. He concluded the play with his signature 'mean mug’ celebration, extending the Bucks lead to 11.

This play shifted the momentum of the game. Prior to this, the Heat were making a comeback after trailing by as much as 25 points. Miami continued to make efforts at a comeback but could not get it done, losing 122-114.

All-Star big man Bam Adebayo was sidelined in this matchup due to a hip injury. Adebayo’s defense could have prevented Antetokounmpo’s dominant performance to some extent. Damian Lillard showcased efficient scoring, wrapping up the game with 25 points on 50 percent shooting.

For Miami, guard Tyler Herro led the way with 35 points and eight rebounds on 57.1 percent shooting. The Heat’s comeback attempt was halted because Jimmy Butler did not play at the end of the game.

The Heat acquired three consecutive losses on their opening road trip but will face the Brooklyn Nets (1-2) on Wednesday evening.
