Miami Heat's Duncan Robinson More Vital With Tyler Herro Sidelined Indefinitely
It was a rare choice of words for Miami Heat forward Duncan Robinson.
He had an opportunity to surpass 1,000 career 3-pointers in Friday's victory against the Detroit Pistons. He missed all three chances.
So he called himself a coward.
"What a coward," said Robinson, who holds the franchise career record for 3-pointers made. "Two chances, three chances to get it."
At some point in today's rematch with the Pistons, Robinson should reach the milestone. While individual accolades are worthy, the Heat are looking for more from Robinson. With guard Tyler Herro sidelined at least two more weeks, Robinson is who the Heat are hoping to continue filling the void.
The Heat have been inconsistent the past 10 games without Herro but Robinson has proven in the past he can step up. He's averaged 14.3 points the last three games, including 16 points, five assists and three steals Friday.
"He wants to make every shot," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "He doesn't want to let the team down. You can't control whether the ball goes in all the time but he always creates something good for our offense. When he's moving around, creating overactions, making plays off the dribble. He's ignitable as anybody in this league."
Should The Miami Heat Start Tyler Herro Or Duncan Robinson?
