Miami Heat's Duncan Robinson Says Move By Jaylen Brown Was "Dirty"
Miami Heat forward Duncan Robinson had some choice words for Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics following Sunday's game.
Robinson and Brown were involved in a skirmish midway through the fourth quarter. The two players got tangled up near the baseline, which ended with Brown tossing Robinson into the stands.
Brown was given a flagrant foul 1. Robinson called it a "dirty" play.
"Just thought it was dangerous, unnecessary and excessive," Robinson said.
Brown refused to apologize, even blaming the incident on Robinson.
"There was no issue for me," Brown said. "I think he knew exactly what he was trying to do. Trying to get tangled up, etc., because he didn't want to play defense. They called the foul, but he was still trying to hang on, so I was trying to get my arm free."
The Celtics won 110-106, completing a 3-0 series sweep this season. The teams could meet again in the postseason. The Heat are the No. 8 seed while the Celtics are No. 1.
"Miami's known for being physical," Brown said. "Miami's known for getting away with a lot of that stuff, kind of mucking up the game. You know, at the end of the day, you got to protect and own your space. I feel like Duncan Robinson knew what he was doing there, trying to get tangled up, trying to draw whatever. I don't know what he was trying to do, but I bet you he won't do it again."
