Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler has a habit of displaying new looks for the team's annual Media Day.

This year was no different.

Butler traded in his braids for a new-look straightened hair appearance Monday for the event. The Heat's social-media account posted a video of the new hairdo.

Butler is back for his fifth season with the Heat. He's led them to two NBA Finals appearances since 2019 but has yet to capture the fourth championship in franchise history. The Heat lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020 before falling last year to the Denver Nuggets in fives games. They became just the second No. 8 seed to make the Finals, joining the 1999 New York Knicks

The Heat begin once again yet another highly-anticipated season with several questions. They spent most of the offseason trying to land All-Star guard Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers. Lillard instead was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks last month, leaving the Heat scrambling.

Because of their pursuit for Lillard, the Heat were unable to land any other lower-level free agents during the summer. That means they will likely enter this season with a similar roster but without starters Max Strus and Gabe Vincent, who signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Lakers.

The Heat open training camp Tuesday at Florida Atlantic University.
