Miami Heat's Jimmy Butler Working On Country Album For More Than A Year

Miami Heat star forward Jimmy Butler has reportedly been recording his own country music album for more than a year, amassing roughly 60 songs

Most know Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler for his dominance in the NBA playoffs, but the group that keeps tabs on his life outside of basketball has another project to be excited for.

Butler is adding musician to his extensive list of passions, which include coffee maker and traveler.

"He’s been quietly working on his own country album for over a year, he says, and while he’s already amassed about 60 (!) songs for the project," The Guardian's Claire de Lune wrote. "He aims to have recorded around 200 to choose from when all is said and done."

At 34 years old, he is still missing a championship on his NBA resume. This is likely the greatest reason Butler has not yet retired to further pursue his other outlets.

Lune continued by detailing the six-time All-Star's view of the industry.

"When he talks about his motivation for getting into music, he says he wants to “humble” himself. “There’s so many people out there, and I’m one of them, that are like, ‘Man, I can do that,’ and you really don’t know how difficult it is to make a No 1 song, how difficult it is to have all these songs on the back burner. And you got to pick the right ones. And it’s fun, and I do love it, but my goodness, it’s difficult. It’s stressful – it’s completely different from basketball."

Lune noted, "He’s unlikely to sing on the album though, as he sees himself in more of a songwriter/producer role (“I’m like the DJ Khaled of this thing,” he deadpans)."

The Miami forward is striving to inspire people across the world to follow their dreams regardless of the circumstances.
