Miami Heat's Kevin Love Still Proving He Can Big When Needed

Miami Heat forward Kevin Love had a season-high 22 points in Saturday's win against the Chicago Bulls
In this story:

At 35, Miami Heat forward Kevin Love is no longer the player who was a perennial All-Star with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers

Now, he just contributes when he can.

He proved that he's still got it during Saturday's win against the Chicago Bulls at Kaseya Center. He finished with a season-high 22 points.

"I've been feeling really good shooting the ball," Love said. "The numbers haven't really indicated that. They've been hit or miss throughout. Just finding me in spots, I was letting it go. Even the other night when I was 0 for 6 [from 3-point range against the Charlotte Hornets Dec. 13], I got some really good looks. A couple could've gone my way."

Love has averaged 19 points the last two games, both against the Bulls. That's double his output throughout the season. Love, who won a championship while playing alongside LeBron James with the Cavs in 2016, became the 39th player to make at least 1,600 3-pointers.

He said the key is remaining confident in his shot.

"Just continuing to have confidence in shooting the ball and letting it go," Love said. "Guys were finding me."

The Heat return to action Monday against the Timberwolves.
