Miami Heat's Tyler Herro Expected To Miss Two Weeks After Ankle Injury
The Miami Heat will be without guard Tyler Herro for likely at least the next seven games.
Herro sprained his an ankle in the first quarter of Wednesday's victory against the Memphis Grizzlies. After the game, he told reporters he expects to miss a "couple weeks."
"Right when it happened I felt it," Herro said. "And I kind of knew mentally, I heard some crunches and cracks in my ankle. And I'm like, 'Yeah, that will be it.'"
The injury occurred while Herro was driving to the basket when he stepped on Memphis center Jaren Jackson's foot. After hobbling to the locker room, Herro never returned.
Herro is off to the best start of his career, averaging 22.9 points, five rebounds and 4.6 assists. Last year he missed most of the postseason after breaking his hand in the first game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
"You know, it's unfortunate, but I'm just going to continue to work hard," Herro said. "I've been through this injury stuff before. I'm just going to keep working."
Herro could return early as the Nov.25 at the Brooklyn Nets. The Heat, winners of three straight, have two off days before facing the Atlanta Hawks.
