Miami Heat's Tyler Herro Rooting For Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler To Make All-Star Game

Herro will likely not earn his first NBA All-Star Game berth despite solid season
In this story:

It is unlikely Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro hears his name called when the NBA All-Star reserves are announced tonight.

So Herro plans to focus his energy on rooting for teammates Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler to earn selections. Herro feels both have done enough this season to make appearances in Salt Lake City later this month.

“Bam is most deserving [and] Jimmy," Herro told reporters recently. "We have two All-Stars on this team. My time will come.”

Last year Herro won the league's Sixth Man of the Year award. This season, he has picked up where he left off. He is averaging 20.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists while helping the Heat to a 29-23 record, which is good for sixth-place in the Eastern Conference standings.

“No disappointment,” Herro said of not being an All-Star. “I feel I like I’m an All-Star-caliber player. But there are a lot of good guards in the East. Got a lot of good players. I’m still young, still learning. I’ll be an All-Star at some point. So I’m not worried.”
