Miami Marlins’ Win Streak Continues Success Of South Florida Sports
The Miami Marlins are the latest team granting bragging rights to South Florida sports fans. They are third in the National League, boasting their best mid-season record since 2009. They are tied with the Atlanta Braves for the best record in the league since the end of May.
It’s been quite a year for sports around Miami. The Heat and Panthers made incredible Finals runs after being counted out as eighth seeds, while the Dolphins re-established themselves as a playoff contender.
Some Marlins fans even indulged in defeating their Boston rivals in yet another sport. The Heat beat the Celtics to advance to the Finals, while the Panthers upset the No. 1 Bruins in the first round. The Marlins outscored the Red Sox 16-3 in their last two games, prompting more trash talk from the Miami fanbase.
All we need is the Dolphins beating the New England Patriots to round out Miami keeping their foot on Boston. But as fans wait for that moment to happen, they can celebrate the product their baseball team is giving them now. Marlins manager Skip Schumaker hopes the team can play even better going forward.
“I just like the way we're competing every day,” Skip Schumer said. “Every day is a new day, win or loss. They're going about it the right way. They're preparing the right way, and I just feel like they're confident that they're going to be in the fight every single night.”
