In this story:

In 2017, Kentucky center Bam Adebayo was drafted with the No. 14 pick by the Miami Heat. However, looking back roughly six years later, it has become abundantly clear that Adebayo should have been selected much higher.

The top five picks were as follows: Markelle Fultz, Lonzo Ball, Jayson Tatum, Josh Jackson, and De’Aaron Fox.

So it raises the question of how high Adebayo should have been picked. NBA fans responded to this question with a clear consensus.

This fan believes Adebayo would go either second or third overall. Expressing the fact that teams would have a tough decision to make between him and Donovan Mitchell. The consensus among many fans is that Mitchell is better than Adebayo.

Boston Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum is the consensus No. 1 pick in the redraft. Tatum has the statistics and accolades to back up this claim. This fan also agrees with the claim that Mitchell and Adebayo are interchangeable at Nos. 2 and 3.

Outside of Tatum, Adebayo, and Mitchell, there are not many notable stars selected in this draft. Ball, who was selected with the No. 2 pick, had a promising future before his career was derailed by injury. Fox was drafted No. 5 overall by the Sacramento Kings and just helped lead them to their first playoff appearance in over a decade.

This hypothetical redraft speaks wonders for the Heat’s scouting department. Finding a two-time All-Star in Adebayo with the No. 14 pick proves impressive to this day.
