It’s been 10 years since one of the biggest shots in NBA playoffs history happened.

It was Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals. The Miami Heat fans were already heading towards the exit of the American Airlines Arena and the San Antonio Spurs were seconds away from their fifth championship.

But the unthinkable happened.

The Heat were down 95-92 and needed a huge shot. LeBron James tried to deliver with a 3-pointer but missed. The ball bounced off the rim, fell into Chris Bosh’s hands and passed to Ray Allen. After that, the rest was history.

"Rebound Bosh, back out to Allen, his three-pointer, BANG!"

This was commentator Mike Breen’s reaction when Allen hit the game-tying 3-pointer over Tony Parker. The crowd went crazy and there was even footage of fans trying to get back into the arena.

The game went into overtime and the Heat forced a Game 7 after Bosh blocked Danny Green’s game-tying 3-pointer.

This was another example of the Heat overcoming the odds set against them. Sure, they were favorites to win but once Game 6 came near an end, it all changed.

"We seen the championship board already out there, the yellow tape,” James said. “And you know, that's why you play the game to the final buzzer. And that's what we did tonight. We gave it everything that we had and more."

When Bosh heard about the fans leaving early, he had a straight-forward message for them.

"For all those guys who left, don't come back for Game 7.”

Ultimately, the Heat closed the series out in Game 7 and won their third championship. But without Allen’s shot and Bosh’s defensive performance, they would’ve gone home early.
