Ray Allen Turns 48 Today. Here Are His Top Three Miami Heat Moments

Former Miami Heat guard Ray Allen had some memorable moments in his final years.

As 2013 Miami Heat champion Ray Allen turns 48 today, let’s take a look at some of his most captivating games in a Heat jersey:

No. 3 - Hot Hand vs. Houston Rockets (03/16/2014)

STATS: 25 PTS, 1 REB, 0 AST

A late regular season game showcased Allen’s sharpshooting, as he dropped 14 points in the fourth quarter to give Miami the win. Heat forward Chris Bosh called Allen “the best 3-point shooter of all-time” when he gets into rhythm.

No. 2 - First Round Game 3 vs. Milwaukee Bucks (04/25/2013)

STATS: 23 PTS (5-8 3-PT), 3 REB, 2 AST

Allen had a team-leading 23 points to put his former team on the brink of elimination in the 2013 playoffs. It was his highest scoring playoff game in Miami, producing in place of a starting backcourt combining for just 11 points.

No. 1 - NBA Finals Game 6 vs. San Antonio Spurs (06/18/2013)

STATS: 9 PTS, 2 AST, 1 STL

I mean, did anyone really expect any other play to top this list? One of the most crucial plays in NBA history came at Allen’s hands. His sole three-pointer sent the Heat to overtime against the Spurs in Game 6, leading to their eventual victory and third franchise championship. Had Allen missed this, Miami would likely have not reciprocated offensively. Instead, it was the Heat hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy to repeat as NBA champions. His statistics may not show it, but Allen was the hero of this game.
