Takeaways From Miami Heat's Loss Saturday Against Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets snapped a five-game losing streak when they defeated the Miami Heat. The victory moved them to the sixth seed spot, bumping the Heat back down to the seventh. The Heat blew a chance to gain ground but now have to work themselves once again out of the play-in tournament.
Here are some major takeaways from the game:
-After going into halftime with a 69-65 lead, the Heat allowed the Nets to outscore them 39-18 in the third quarter. It took a turn when the Nets started the quarter on a 31-6 run.
-While the Heat’s bench struggled, Max Strus scored 23 points, hitting his first nine shots. It was his second straight game with double-figure points. He also had five 3-pointers on 55 percent shooting.
-Jimmy Butler snapped a nine-game streak of scoring 20 or more points. He finished with 18 points and went scoreless in the fourth quarter. He also attempted just seven free throws, the lowest since Mar. 4.
-Tyler Herro finished with 23 points. He scored 14 of those points in the first half.
-The Heat had a great game from the 3-point line. They only hit 12 3-pointers but shot 40 percent, the second straight game they shot above 40 percent. However, they allowed the Nets to hit 18 3-pointers on 45 percent.
