Takeaways From The Miami Heat's Loss Wednesday Against Philadelphia 76ers
The Miami Heat lost 119-96 to the Philadelphia 76ers, who were playing without injured star Joel Embiid.
The 76ers outscored the Heat in the second quarter 37-15. It was the worst quarter of the season for the Heat.
.Here are some major takeaways from the game:
-With Embiid sidelined because of a foot injury, the Heat were still unable to take advantage of facing a smaller lineup. Sixers guards Tyrese Maxey and James Harden combined for 50 points.
-The Heat's injury bug continued when Jimmy Butler, who had 16 points, left in the fourth quarter with left knee soreness. The Heat were already out of the game at the time, so it could have been just for precautious. It is an injury that has bothered him all season.
-The Heat's starting backcourt of Gabe Vincent and Tyler Herro had a rough night. They combined to shoot 6 of 26 from the field. It was one of the few times both struggled in the same game. It was disappointing because Vincent had played well in Kyle Lowry's absence.
-Erik Spoelstra took some Heat for his coaching in the second quarter. The Sixers took control when Spoelstra removed Butler and center Bam Adebayo from the game. The Heat aren't equipped to play without their two stars for an extended period, especially when Herro is struggling.
