Well, at least the Miami Heat aren’t the only South Florida team facing a 3-1 deficit.

The Finals celebrations in Miami are slowly getting packed up after the Heat and Florida Panthers lost their respective Game 4s. Panthers fans hoped for another Matthew Tkachuk clutch shot or last-second heroics against the Vegas Golden Knights. They are 7-0 in overtime playoff games but couldn’t force another one Saturday night.

The Panthers have been in this situation though. They faced the same deficit against the league-best Boston Bruins in the first round but pulled off the comeback to advance.

Miami, on the other hand, has some work to do. They’ve only faced elimination once, in Game 7 of the conference finals against the Boston Celtics. It was one of their most dominant performances this postseason, with Caleb Martin and Jimmy Butler combining for 54 points while Gabe Vincent and Duncan Robinson contributed as well. They need to replicate that if they hope to pull off an improbable comeback.

If both teams can somehow pull this off, South Florida residents might not be able to contain themselves.
