Tyler Herro On His Play Before Injury: “We Were Playing At An All NBA Level”
Miami Heat star Tyler Herro was off to a record-breaking start prior to sustaining an injury against the Memphis Grizzlies.
On his YouTube channel, Herro kicked off a new documentary series, ‘Boy Wonder’s World.’ In episode one, he discussed his expectations for himself and the Heat.
“We were playing at an all-NBA level, we were gonna make all-NBA,” Herro said. “Trying to get back on the court ASAP... because when I get back, we’re going to need that same (expletive).”
Herro is rehabbing in hopes of returning by mid-December. He is averaging 22.9 points, five rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.4 steals through eight games this season.
Miami will make noise in the postseason if they remain healthy. Stars Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo missed time due to injury and personal reasons. The Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks appear strong, but the Heat are finding ways to win.
After Herro's injury, Miami won four consecutive games. The streak was broken on Saturday in a 102-97 loss to Demar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls. With their recent success, coach Erik Spoelstra must work Herro back into the lineup.
In his absence, Adebayo is stepping up on the offensive end. He is averaging 22.8 points and 10.2 rebounds on 53.5 percent shooting.
