Miami Heat’s Tyler Herro is being undervalued since his injury in Game 1 against the Milwaukee Bucks last postseason.

So much so that on ESPN’s top 100 players entering next season, Herro was placed below the likes of Scoot Henderson, Chet Holmgren, Walker Kessler, and Cade Cunningham. Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves is also ranked 13 spots ahead of Herro at No. 66.

Despite his injury, Herro averaged more than 20 points for the last two seasons. Alongside this, Herro was a key contributor to Miami’s success in recent years.

On the other hand, Henderson and Holmgren have yet to play in an NBA game. The former Sixth Man of the Year is receiving added motivation as next season approaches.

The players surrounding Herro on the list are as follows:

No. 82: Cameron Johnson

No. 80: Jalen Green

No. 79: Herro

No. 78: Henderson

No. 75: Nikola Vucivic

No. 74: Cunningham

No. 73: Holmgren

No. 70: Kessler

This offseason, Herro was placed at the forefront of trade negotiations surrounding former Portland Trail Blazer Damian Lillard. However, the Blazers showed little interest in Herro because of their young backcourt.

Entering his fifth season, Herro is playing with a chip on his shoulder, hoping to make his name untouchable in the eyes of the Heat.
