Udonis Haslem On Draymond Green's Actions: "It Just Makes Me Cringe"
Miami Heat long-time forward Udonis Haslem has been at the forefront of NBA conversations this week because of his comments surrounding the late Bill Russell.
The Miami legend is continuing to tackle controversial topics around the league, but this time on a fellow legend's podcast.
On a recent episode of 'The Big Podcast with Shaq', NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal was joined by Haslem, where they discussed Draymond Green's recent actions and suspension.
O'Neals co-host Adam Lefkoe introduced the topic, "But that seems to be your code if you start business."
Haslem interrupted, "Imma finish it."
Lefkoe restated Haslem's point, saying, "I will finish it, but you're not going to start it unprovoked."
"Nah, I'm my daddy's son. We don't start trouble, we just finish it. So, for me, I think where Draymond's gotten to the point where he's the initiator, and I think that's not a good thing. When I saw the things that are happening, they kind of make me cringe because I put myself in that situation because I'm an OG and I'm a leader. So when I look at Draymond, I try and put myself in his shoes," Haslem said.
Haslem continued by clearing the air on his criticism of Green, but admitted he does not understand the Golden State star's decisions.
"I don't want to stand at the top and throw rocks. It just makes me cringe because I can imagine myself the way he hit Jordan Poole. I can imagine myself hitting Tyler Herro like that, and I try to understand where he's coming from, and I could never do those things," Haslem shared. "Some decisions I gotta make on my own as a man, but when you get back in that gym, you gotta make decisions that's up to you."
