Spread & Over/Under Predictions: Hornets at Nets

Picks for tonight's game.

Each game day, we at All Hornets will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of Charlotte Hornets games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: Nets -8.5

4 Star play on the Nets (-8.5): When these teams met in the first week of the season in Charlotte, the Nets came away with a 133-121 win behind the power of a combined 57 points from Cam Thomas and Mikal Bridges. The Hornets have seen Miles Bridges return to the lineup since the first matchup, but have lost LaMelo Ball to injury since then.

With Ball out with an ankle injury for this matchup, the Hornets are going to have their work cut out for them to keep up with the fast pace we saw last time. Terry Rozier has shown plenty of success in the past running the point while Ball is injured, but the Brooklyn backcourt is healthier and has lots of looks they can throw at Charlotte.

Over/Under: 225.5

2 Star play on the over: The Nets are prone to some lower scoring games and Charlotte is obviously missing their star, but the way these teams matchup leads me to lean towards the over. The defenses were opportunistic more than effective for both teams last time out, and Charlotte is going to have to be more diligent than usual to keep up.

My picks this season

ATS: 2-1 (66.7%)

O/U: 1-2 (33.3%)

Overall: 3-3 (50%)
