Spread & Over/Under Predictions: Hornets vs Sixers

Picks for today's game.

Each game day, we at All Hornets will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of Charlotte Hornets games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: Sixers -9.5

4 Star play on the Sixers (-9.5): Joel Embiid and the Sixers are extremely hot coming into this one. They've won five games in a row by an average of 22.2 points per game. Joel Embiid has averaged 39.6 points over that time.

Charlotte is extremely undermanned with LaMelo Ball, Mark Williams, and P.J. Washington- among others- out for this one. Nick Richards is actually the only true center even active the Hornets tonight.

If there is a saving grace for the Hornets, it is that the Sixers are on the second night of a back-to-back. Charlotte is too, but at least they were at home last night and tonight so they didn't have to travel.

The Sixers will have to cool off at some point, but Charlotte simply doesn't have the manpower for it to be tonight without flawless execution.

Over/Under: 232.5

2 Star play on the over: Neither of these teams play with an overly quick pace, and both teams played last night so the legs aren't fresh.

With that said, Philly's efficient offense at all three levels and the free throw line, smothering and measured defense, and significantly better health could lead them to dragging this game to the over all on their own.

My picks this season

ATS: 2-2 (50%)

O/U: 2-2 (50%)

Overall: 4-4 (50%)
