In the latest NBA mock draft on CBS Sports, Gary Parrish has the Charlotte Hornets selecting guard Amen Thompson of the Overtime Elite League.

"Thompson is a big and super-athletic guard with a unique ability to shot-create and deliver passes most prospects his age can't even see. His lack of a perimeter jumper is the only obvious thing that could prevent him from being a high-level NBA player for a long time."

Parrish has Victor Wembanyama (Pistons), Scoot Henderson (Rockets), and Brandon Miller (Spurs) going ahead of the Hornets' pick at No. 4 and has Charlotte passing on Jerace Walker, Gradey Dick, and Cam Whitmore among others.

Thompson averaged 16.4 points, 5.9 assists, and 5.9 rebounds per game this season and saw those numbers improve in postseason play to 17.2 points, 9.2 assists, and 7.2 rebounds per game while leading his team, the City Reapers, to an OTE championship.

The 2023 NBA Draft Lottery will take place next Tuesday, May 16th at 8:30 p.m. EST. The draft will be held on June 22nd.
