Game Preview
Charlotte is 1-4 in its last 5 games after Monday night's home 21-point loss to the Knicks. The Hornets now conclude their four-game home stretch by hosting a Bulls who are 2-3 in their last five games and without star player Zach LaVine.
Unfortunately, LaMelo Ball will also likely be out for this game, leaving the Charlotte offense reliant on rookie Brandon Miller and Miles Bridges to lead the way if they wish to keep it competitive tonight. After Monday's blowout loss to the Knicks at home, where Coach Clifford was ejected, and clips went viral online of Hornets players laughing on the bench during the loss, it will be interesting to see how the team responds tonight against a Chicago team they are 0-3 against already this year.
Key Match-up: Nick Richards/Nathan Mensah vs Nikola Vucevic/Andre Drummond
The size of the Bulls at the center position presents a challenge for Charlotte tonight. Vucevic is averaging 17.5 points and 11.4 rebounds in his last 10 games, and in the three games against Charlotte this year, Drummond is averaging 11.7 points and 11.3 rebounds, both higher than his averages on the year. With still no Mark Williams for Charlotte, Richards and Mensah will have to prioritize containing this big-man duo for the Bulls.
