Sneak peek: The Charlotte Hornets are ready to tip off the 2023-24 regular season at home against a divisional rival, the Atlanta Hawks. Hornets head coach Steve Clifford said Tuesday that he feels like his team is in a good place mentally, but like all coaches, he would prefer to have another week before playing games that count.

Charlotte struggled to win games last season mainly due to injury but they had no problem with the Hawks. The Hornets took three of the four games in the season series which marked the first time they won a four-game set over Atlanta since the 2018-19 season.
