Score Predictions for Hornets vs. 76ers

Our staff picks tonight's game between Charlotte and Philadelphia.
In this story:

Schuyler Callihan: 76ers 130, Hornets 105.

The Hornets finally got back in the win column on Friday night, marking the first home win since December 8th. Tonight could be a repeat performance of what we saw between these two a month ago where the Hornets were blown out of their own building. Both teams are set to play the back end of a back-to-back, but Philly has better depth. Give me the Sixers big.

Prediction record: 17-7.

James Plowright: 76ers 124, Hornets 105.

I fear the feel good vibes won’t last long for Charlotte. Both teams are on the second night of a back to back, but the Sixers have a trump card of Joel Embiid who is in the midst of a career year where missing too many games might be the only thing stopping him win MVP. What exactly are Charlotte expected to do with no Williams/Richards to slow him down? I would try something out the box, put a smaller, stronger player like Martin on him to get right up under him and try to make him uncomfortable.

Prediction record: 20-4.

Ian Black: 76ers 119, Hornets 102

P.J. Washington and Nathan Mensah will be the primary checks for Joel Embiid this evening. The 76ers will be missing a few key perimeter defenders in Melton and Covington tonight, so maybe Charlotte will have a chance to tip the scales back in their favor if LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, and Brandon Miller and really take advantage.

Prediction record: 5-1.
