Score Predictions for Hornets vs. Hawks

Our staff picks tonight's game between Charlotte and Atlanta.
In this story:

Matt Alquiza: Hornets 112, Hawks 106.

Am I flying too close to the sun predicting a third straight Hornets win? Probably! Atlanta is banged up and the new look post-deadline Hornets are playing good basketball. Charlotte will end the first half on a tear and head into the All-Star with great vibes surrounding the franchise.

Prediction record: 3-3.

Atticus Ferguson: Hornets 118, Hawks 112.

Why let the good vibes stop now? As good as the new look Hornets have looked, this has come at a time where the new additions are still trying to learn the intricacies of how head coach Steve Clifford runs his team, tendencies of new teammates, etc. This team is as energized as it’s been all season and given the extra time they’ve had to work together, I think this will be the best performance we’ve seen post-deadline from this Hornets squad.

Prediction record: 21-4.

James Plowright: Hawks 130, Hornets 115.

For once Charlotte have a size advantage, Atlanta is missing both Capela and Okongwu through injury. However, the Hawks have begun to show signs of life recently and Trae Young is on a “I should have been an all-star” hot streak which could be too much to overcome.

Prediction record: 23-6.
