Score Predictions for Hornets vs. Pistons
Schuyler Callihan: Hornets 112, Pistons 106.
I liked what I saw from the Hornets defensively on opening night and I think the effort on that end of the floor continues. Steve Clifford wants to see more action in the paint offensively and better efficiency when they get there. As long as the Hornets don't overlook the Pistons this should be a win.
Prediction record: 1-0.
Matt Alquiza: Hornets 108, Pistons 102.
The good times keep rolling. Charlotte had real flashes on both sides of the ball in game one and that will continue in game two. LaMelo Ball will find his footing earlier on in this game and lead the Hornets offense to a more efficient outing. The defense will struggle limiting Cade Cunningham, but he won’t win the game on his own and the Hornets will move to 2-0.
Prediction record: 1-0.
Desmond Johnson: Hornets 110, Pistons 99.
Who had 2-0 start on the 2023-24 Hornets bingo card? A lot of hype surrounding rookie Brandon Miller and his solid debut but 2nd year center Mark Williams may in fact be HIM. A big three of Lamelo Ball, Mark Williams and Brandon Miller, all under the age of 22, is PROVOCATIVE. It gets the people going. The Hornets are about 2 years ahead of the Pistons development wise. Expect a fun game with two young teams but Hornets pull away in the 4th.
Prediction record: 1-0.
James Plowright: Hornets 111, Pistons 106.
Charlotte catches a break with Detroit missing 20+ point per game Bojan Bogdanovic through injury. The Pistons opened the season with a feisty loss to the Eastern Conference champions Miami Heat, Cade Cunningham was outstanding with 30 points 9 assists. The Pistons held Miami to just 48% shooting as a team at the rim and rebounded 34% of their own misses, these are the key to the games for the Hornets.
Prediction record: 1-0.
