Spread & Over/Under Predictions for Hornets vs. Knicks

Can the Hornets cover the spread?
In this story:

Each game day, we at All Hornets will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of Charlotte Hornets games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: Knicks -6.5

3 Star play on the Knicks (-6.5): The Knicks are playing well right now, winners of five in their last six, one of which was a 22-point win over Charlotte just six days ago. Right now, New York is better equipped to handle the second leg of a back-to-back. Miles Bridges played 33 minutes in his first game last night, so there could be some fatigue there. Gordon Hayward returned to the lineup but didn't look himself. And then Nick Richards may not be available to experiencing concussion-like symptoms. Charlotte keeps it close for a long time, but the Knicks dominate the fourth quarter.

Over/Under: 225.5

1 Star play on the over: This is right where it should be. My best advice is to forget the total and play the side. That said, we have to make a pick, so let's lean to the under here. New York is a defensive-minded team and is a group that values possessions. The Hornets have been up and down offensively and although last night wasn't great, it was really just the fourth quarter that skewed the numbers. Let's take the over.

My picks this season

ATS: 4-4 (50%)

O/U: 5-3 (62%)

Overall: 9-7 (56%)

Miles Bridges Was 'Impressive' in First NBA Game in Over 500 Days
