Spread & Over/Under Predictions for Hornets vs. Celtics

Can the Hornets cover the spread?

Each game day, we at All Hornets will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of Charlotte Hornets games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: Celtics -9.5

1 Star play on the Celtics (-9.5): This line is right where it should be, so personally, I would stay away from the side in this one. However, we'll put a small lean on the Celtics here. Charlotte hasn't received much from Gordon Hayward or P.J. Washington recently and it's putting a ton of pressure on Brandon Miller to step up. I do think the Hornets will be competitive in this one, but Boston gets separation midway through the fourth quarter.

Over/Under: 232.5

1 Star play on the under: Charlotte's defense has been miserable, so I'm kind of surprised I'm picking the under here but it makes sense. Boston is in game two of a back-to-back and they only put up 102 against an average Memphis defense. Boston is also 2nd in the NBA in scoring defense, so under is our play tonight.

My picks this season

ATS: 5-4 (50%)

O/U: 6-3 (62%)

Overall: 11-7 (56%)
