Spread & Over/Under Predictions for Hornets vs. Heat

Can the Hornets cover the spread?
In this story:

Each game day, we at All Hornets will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of Charlotte Hornets games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: Heat -4.5

2 Star play on the Heat (-4.5): In their six losses, the Hornets are losing by an average of 12.8 points per game. In their three wins, they're only averaging a +4.6 differential. This is a team that either gets beat soundly or wins close. Without Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward and Brandon Miller banged up, laying the points with Miami is the only way to play the spread.

Over/Under: 223.5

2 Star play on the over: It's easy to automatically think under in a Miami Heat game, but I'm going to lean toward the over here. In the last six meetings between these two, the average total is 235.5. Couple that with Charlotte's early season defensive issues and I'm pretty comfortable in picking the over. It's not a play you should ship your bank role on, but I do think it's the right side.

My picks this season

ATS: 2-4 (33%)

O/U: 5-1 (83%)

Overall: 7-5 (58%)

Game Preview: Heat at Hornets (In-Season Tournament)
