Each game day, we at All Hornets will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of Charlotte Hornets games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: Warriors -12 (play to -13)

3 Star play on the Warriors -12: The NCAA Tournament brought some much needed entertainment to the city of Charlotte, as the Hornets have failed to produce anything of note for most of March. With Golden State in town, there’s sure to be some extra eyes on tonight’s matchup. However, it’s not likely that Charlotte will be able to keep up. The Warriors are a top 10 cover team this year, winning ATS at a 54.9% clip. Meanwhile, the Hornets are the second worst team in the league against the number, covering the spread at a meager 38.9% rate. With Charlotte’s recent announcement that LaMelo Ball, Cody Martin, and Seth Curry will all be shutdown for the remainder of the year, may just signify their waving of the white flag for the 2023-2024 season. Take the Warriors to cover in a game that has playoff implications for them only.

Over/Under: 220

2 Star play on Over 220: This total has climbed a considerable amount of points over the last 24 hours. Previously posted at 216.5, it can now be found as high as 220.5, and is showing no signs of slowing down. The Hornets have averaged a total of 101 points this month, so the market is essentially betting on the scoring prowess of the Warriors and the potential for a big night from Klay Thompson. Golden State is dead even against the total this year with a 36-36 O/U record, while Charlotte favors the Under at a 51.4% rate. Given the Warriors current standings in the West, they should be motivated enough to score the points needed to put away a short-staffed Hornets team in late March. It’s never a bad idea to bet on the Warriors to score points, but tread lightly as their dance partners might not be able to do so.
