Caleb and Cody Martin both recently appeared on "The Stadium" with Shams Charania to discuss his standout post-season appearance. During the 10-minute long sit-down interview, Caleb discussed his experiences in the pre-draft process and being waived by the Hornets.

Caleb said the following regarding being waived by Charlotte:

"At the time when they did it, at first naturally you feel some kind of way. You feel mad. The first thing I did was went to my stats and said, 'What made them do that?' I looked at everything. Looked at my efficiency, looked at my percentages... I would have waived me too. I didn't blame them at that point. I was mad, then I was real about it."

This is a remarkably mature recollection of the situation from Caleb. As hard as it is to imagine now, Caleb was the the most obvious candidate to be moved on at the time. The Hornets had recently drafted James Bouknight and Kai Jones and had to waive one of Caleb Martin, Jalen McDaniels or Nick Richards, with the latter two players also having NBA success albeit on a much smaller stage.
