Embiid, Sixers Dominate Hornets

The Hornets move to 22-50 on the season.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Philadelphia 76ers blew the Charlotte Hornets out of their own gym on Friday, winning by a final score of 121-82.

With Mark Williams (thumb) out of the lineup, the game went about as you would expect. The Hornets failed to slow down Joel Embiid on the offensive end and on the glass as he totaled 38 points and 13 rebounds on the night, making 16-of-21 shots from the floor. James Harden (11) and Paul Reed (10) also finished in double digits as far as rebounds go.

Charlotte hung around in the first half, trailing by only ten at the break but the second half output was atrocious. The Hornets were outscored 55-28 in the final two quarters of play thanks to a miserable shooting performance going 10/40 from the field and 0/17 from three. Terry Rozier led the team in scoring with just 14 points.

The Hornets will have the next two days off before closing out the current five-game homestand against the Indiana Pacers on Monday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST.
