Hornets Comeback, Beating the Pacers 113-108

The Hornets move to 23-50 on the season.

The Hornets had a slow start as they struggled in the 1st Quarter of this game. They looked unmotivated and unprepared with how they were playing  It was looking like it was going to be a long game, but the Hornets fought back from the 2nd quarter onwards and outplayed Indiana the rest of the game.

The Hornets reached their peak in the second quarter when they scored 36 points and were fighting hard to get a lead in the game. 

Fortunately, it was enough for the Hornets to win 113-108 in one of their best comebacks of the season and I give kudos to a lot of players for their effort and never give up attitude. Nick Richards had a career high 17 rebounds along with 14 points and 2 blocks in what was one of his best games of the season.

However, one bemusing decision was Svi Mykhailiuk getting minutes over Bryce McGowens. Since being acquired at the deadline he has struggled to make an impact, this game especially he struggled early on both ends. 

Mykhailiuk played so poorly in the first quarter Clifford turned back to Bryce McGowens who also failed to make the most of the opportunity. Mykhailiuk only has one year left on his deal and it would not be a surprise if he was not resigned next season.

Player of the Game For Charlotte: F/G Kelly Oubre Jr.

The player that had the most impact in this game is Kelly Oubre Jr. He was unstoppable and was scored a team high 28 points in this squad.

Oubre has s cored over 24 points in 7/9 games. Performances like this fuel the argument that the Hornets need to resign Oubre, as his contract expires at the end of the season.

Honorable Mention: F Gordon Hayward

There is an argument to be made having Hayward as the Player of the Game. His clutch shot making down the stretch helped get the team over the line.
