In this story:

Wednesday afternoon, the Charlotte Hornets extended qualifying offers to Miles Bridges, P.J. Washington, and Theo Maledon, officially making them restricted free agents.

Free agency begins July 1st and the Hornets will be able to match any offer sheet that is submitted to those three players.

Bridges sat out this past season following his arrest. He pleaded no contest to domestic violence charges and the NBA recognizes his absence in 2022-23 as part of his suspension. Bridges will, however, be required to sit out the first ten games of 2023-24.

With Bridges not on the floor, Washington saw a slight increase in minutes and production. He started 73 games and averaged 15.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.

Theo Maledon filled in at the point due to the Hornets' numerous injuries and made the most of his opportunity, averaging 6.7 points, 3.5 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game.
