Hornets Front Office Interview Requests Confirmed For Three Candidates
Strap in, the race to appoint the future President of Basketball Operations for the Charlotte Hornets is underway and quickly speeding towards the finish line.
League sources tell All Hornets that official interview requests are being sent out to candidates during the All-Star break. However, league sources also confirm that informal conversations with potential candidates have been underway since the start of the 2023-24 season.
All Hornets can exclusively confirm that New Orleans GM Trajan Langdom, Brooklyn Nets Assistant GM Jeff Peterson and LA Clippers GM Trent Redden will be on Charlotte's initial interview shortlist. Sources confirmed there are multiple other candidates expected to be added to the first wave of interview shortlist, in addition to the names above.
Langdon and Peterson are two candidates who have been closely linked to the role through reports from AllHornets.com and ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. However, Trent Redden is a name which has not been publicly linked to the role apart from AllHornets.com's James Plowright in his "Top 10 Candidates To Replace Mitch Kupchak.

Redden played College basketball for two years at SMU. After graduating he became a scout for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2007 and worked his way up to assistant GM in 2018. Redden left Cleveland for the LA Clippers in 2018 for the assistant GM role. Following Michael Winger’s departure to the Wizards last summer, Redden was appointed as General Manager of the LA Clippers in the summer of 2023. Redden is known to be an impressive strategic thinker and is well respected among his peers in the industry.
